Animal Welfare Donation
Operating
Operating donations is one of our greatest needs as it helps us to take care of animals in ways other accounts cannot. It supports shelter animals in Oklahoma City by paying for items that assist with their welfare including but not limited to shelter improvements, equipment and machinery, enrichment, adoptions, professional services, training, adoption events, specialized staff and more. Through Operating donations, OKCAW raises support for the direct care of lost, mistreated, or neglected animals to keep rescued animals happy, safe and stimulated in their new surroundings. This fund allows us to implement enhancements above and beyond basic services and improve care for thousands of homeless animals until they are placed into loving homes. By contributing to the Operating Fund, animal lovers can help us improve care for thousands of homeless and abandoned pets and promote their adoption into loving homes by allowing us to use the funds in areas of greatest need.
Angel Fund
The Angel Fund is dedicated to raising support for the treatment of many injured or ill cats and dogs each year. The Fund pays for medical care provided by veterinarians in our shelters and for emergency treatment and/or hospitalization in outside institutions. The Angel Fund additionally covers medical care for animals suffering from cruelty or neglect, and for those in the OKAWD Foster Care Program. When Foster Care pets (animals too young or small to be spayed/neutered, nursing a litter, or too ill or injured to be adopted) need medical care, the Angel Fund resources are available for them. By contributing to The Angel Fund, animal lovers can make a gift restricted for regular and emergency medical care and for the hospitalization of sick, hurt, or mistreated cats and dogs and other animals rescued by OKCAW.
Disaster Relief
This fund assists us in helping animals when disasters occur. Donating to the Disaster Relief Fund helps us with the rescue, sheltering and treatment of animals in the event of a disaster. Funds also help train volunteers to provide life-saving tasks for animals rescued during disaster response and recovery and educate the community about disaster preparedness.
Community Outreach
Donating to this fund allows OKCAW the opportunity to provide pet owners with programs that help them retain their pets and become responsible pet owners. This not only helps keep animals in their loving homes, it also prevents animals from coming into the shelter, thereby helping to decrease euthanasia. Programs include but are not limited to pet spay or neuter, education and outreach, pet food bank, volunteer program and the community cat program.
