| Scope: | Council Proceedings record group from 1965 through 1990 contain The City of Oklahoma City Council agendas, summaries, publications, bid tabulations lists and recorded project bids. The document prepared before the meeting, showing all items to be considered was historically called the Final Docket, and is known in later years as the Formal Agenda. Some agendas include a list of notices to be published for zoning, bidding, hearings, and ordinances and resolutions in the years 1965-1970. The document prepared after the meeting that shows a record of actions taken or documents adopted is the Summary. The format of the summary varies. In 1965 summaries are typewritten memos to the City Manager from City Council and include a synopsis of actions taken or stricken. There are no vote counts for individual officials or items. The handwritten notes of the Office of City Clerk include document numbers for Plans and Specifications, Contracts, Resolutions, and Easements, among others. There are no Publication or Bid tabulation lists from 1971 – 1990 or Agendas from 1967 in the record group. | History: | The City Council Proceedings were generated from City Council meetings. Meetings were presided by the Mayor or another Council member in the absence of the Mayor. This record group includes unofficial copies of City Council Proceedings. The official, executed record of City Council actions is retained in bound volumes housed in the City Clerk vault. The official volumes span 1890-1999 and include the numbered agenda with outcomes and votes of individual officials in the same format as these copies. Looseleaf paper copies of City Council Proceedings are retained in the vault from 1977-2008. Since 2008 City Council agendas have been compiled electronically and proceedings are executed and retained in a digital format, available through The City of Oklahoma City website.
